You have a clear criminal record.
Your application should be made from Spain and a decision on granting the visa will only take 20 days.
Those already residing legally in Spain when making an application for a digital nomad visa can request a three-year permit which can be extended for two more years if the applicant continues to fulfil the conditions for the digital nomad visa. After this period, this residency permit could be converted to a long-term permit.
The documentation you have to present is not always easy to collect and prepare, and on many occasions, is bound to involve long waiting periods with public administration. Our English-Speaking, Spanish Immigration Specialist Lawyers will provide you with a full hand-holding service throughout the entirety of your application.
The Digital Nomad Visa is valid for six months and can then be renewed for further six months, without the applicant becoming a tax resident - another benefit to this welcome visa.
If the applicant decides that they want to apply for the residence permit, during that period, either before or after the extension, they should apply for the residence permit as an independent worker, which can be done from within Portugal whilst on the Digital Nomad Visa.

The first step is to approve your business plan before an accredited institution (for example, ATA, Association of Self-Employed Workers in Spain). Once you have approval, the next step will be to go to the Immigration Office in the place where the business is going to be established.
The Immigration Office will review the documents, and if approved, the last step will be to go
to the Consulate in your country of residence and submit the approval from the Immigration Office alongside the other required documents.
Once the visa is granted, you must register at the Spanish Social Security within 3 months and obtain the TIE card, which is the ID card for foreigners and proves legal residence in Spain.
